Becoming a church

Becoming a church? I have looked on the internet for how to become a church and what did I find? Zit.
Only other churches pushing themselves. I think this is an exclusive club with wealthy members, Is this why all the political parties stopped the senate inquiry into the Scientology church in Australia. There appears to be some sort of manopoly on churches and I think this is unhealthy. I was told once that this little church in the back blocks in Australia,and I mean in the back blocks. Was holding services and the people repaired and repainted the little building in the area which was'nt being used. The powers to be  from the big church found out and sent in there people to run the newly formed group. With in weeks they set up a collection plate and a pastor to administrate the church. The people stopped coming and the little church was left alone to deteriate back to where it can from. Sad but true....Thus the question how do you start a church? Which is different to how you belong to one, cause any one can belong to one, but not every one can start one. Yes this is a plea so if you have the answers please feel free to use the comments.

How to Register a New Church in Canada:

When this practical question was put to one church planter, here's how he responded:

"In terms of legalities, here's the order to follow:

1. Request a Name from the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Relations (a provincial jurisdiction);
2. Apply for Incorporation from the Ministry of Finance (Corporate and Personal Property Registries). Again, a provincial jurisdiction. This includes signing the constitution and bylaws, preparing a list of directors and filing fees.
3. Request a Business Number from Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (a federal jurisdiction).
4. Register for a GST number from Canada Customs and Revenue Agency.
5. Apply for a Charitable Registration Number from the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. All the previous four steps must be complete before a charitable number will be provided.

The whole process will take about 4-6 months in total, with the last one being the most tedious. All necessary forms are posted on the internet at the government sites, so the running around is minimal -- as long as you know how to point and click."

Hope that will get you started! Blessin' on ya!
